Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis.  

Accountabilities

• Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives.  .
• Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offerings, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions.  .
• Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions.  .
• Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements.  .
• Research, financial data analysis and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations.  .

Join Barclays as an Investment Banking Associate, where you will support our dynamic Leveraged Finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the execution of complex financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancing. You will collaborate closely with senior bankers, clients, and other stakeholders to analyze financial data, structure deals, and prepare detailed presentations.

To be successful as an Investment Banking Associate, you should have experience with:

• Loan structuring, including covenant analysis, term sheet negotiation, and credit documentation

• Underwriting leveraged transactions and assessing risk-adjusted returns

• Preparation of various pitch materials for corporate clients and financial sponsors (M&A, LBO, refinancings, and recapitalizations)

• Managing multiple workstreams under tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored financing solutions

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Excellent quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and valuation techniques

• Ample written and spoken communication skills for client interaction and internal presentations

• Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, actionable insights

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information

• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Minimum Salary: $175,000

Maximum Salary: $225,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
