Description
Aitech is seeking a visionary and technically adept Space Product Director to lead the development and lifecycle management of satellite-based products and constellations. This role demands deep mission knowledge, a strong technical foundation in space systems, and hands-on experience with the design of boards and subsystems. You will drive product strategy, oversee cross-functional execution, and ensure alignment with customer needs and mission objectives.
This position requires frequent travel to Aitech corporate sites and customer locations to support program execution, stakeholder engagement, and technical reviews
Key Responsibilities:
· Product Strategy & Roadmap
· Define and evolve product vision and roadmap for satellite platforms, constellations, satellite and payload systems and boards.
· Align product development with mission requirements, market trends, and emerging technologies.
· Technical Leadership
· Provide guidance on system architecture, board-level design, and integration of payloads and subsystems.
· Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and performance optimization.
· Mission Expertise
· Translate mission objectives into product features and system capabilities.
· Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand operational constraints and mission-critical needs.
· Program Execution
· Work with cross-functional teams through design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
· Manage product lifecycle from concept to decommissioning, ensuring quality and compliance.
· Stakeholder Engagement
· Serve as the primary interface between product, engineering, business development, and external partners.
· Present product updates, technical briefings, and strategic plans to executive leadership and customers.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
· 10+ years of experience in space systems, satellite development, or aerospace product management.
· Proven expertise in board-level design, system integration, and constellation architecture.
· Strong understanding of mission planning, orbital mechanics, and payload operations.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and potential access to export-controlled technologies.
· Recent Secret or Top Secret clearance and ability to reactivate clearance
Desired Experiences:
· Experience with LEO/MEO/GEO satellite constellations.
· Familiarity with RF systems, power management, and thermal design.
· Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITAR, FCC, ESA).
· Background in agile development and systems engineering methodologies.
