Software Development Intern (AI Focus)
Location: Dayforce (Mauritius) Ltd - Level 2 , Iconebene 1 - Ebene
Duration - 3 Months - (Mid October 2025 till Early January 2026)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Trainee Developer to join our dynamic team in Mauritius. This internship is ideal for students with a background in Computer Science and a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence. As an IT Trainee Developer, you will gain hands-on experience in software development using AI tools, working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Get to Do
• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and test software applications and solutions.
• Leverage AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Assist in coding, debugging, and troubleshooting software issues using AI to ensure smooth functionality.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing software products.
• Support the team in implementing software best practices and coding standards to achieve engineering excellence.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver quality results.
Skills and Experience We Value
• Currently completing Year 2 Semester 2 (Oct 2025) or in the final year of a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with AI-powered tools.
• Familiarity with one or more AI tools, APIs, and frameworks, such as:
◦ OpenAI API
◦ LangChain
◦ Hugging Face
◦ Azure AI
◦ Ollama
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning is an added advantage.
• Participation in AI-related competitions, courses, or academic projects is a strong plus.
• A motivated, curious, and driven individual who is passionate about AI and working in a tech environment.
• Strong academic performance in courses such as programming, algorithms, data structures, computer organization, and discrete mathematics.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

What to Expect – Application Process
1. 1st Level Screening – The recruitment team will review resumes and transcripts to shortlist candidates. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the next stage.
2. 2nd Level Screening – Shortlisted candidates will be invited (virtually or at our office) for a technical assessment, which may include an aptitude test and/or a coding challenge.
3. 3rd Level Screening (if required) – If further evaluation is necessary, candidates may be invited for a second round of technical assessments.
