Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic accounting team where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting bookkeeping and payroll operations for a diverse client portfolio. You’ll work with modern cloud-based accounting systems and contribute directly to the firm’s continued success while being fully integrated into their collaborative team environment. This position offers the perfect blend of technical accounting work and meaningful client impact, particularly in the nonprofit sector, where your expertise will help organizations achieve their missions. Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive bookkeeping operations using QuickBooks Online as the primary platform
- Process payroll functions and ensure accurate employee compensation management
- Handle accounts payable and receivable workflows through Bill.com integration
- Apply nonprofit accounting principles and GAAP standards to client transactions
- Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate on complex client matters
- Communicate effectively with team members through phone, video calls, and digital platforms
- Process and categorize financial transactions with precision and attention to detail
- Support critical month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Provide backup support for Spanish-speaking client communications when needed
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives
Requirements
- Essential: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (this is non-negotiable)
- Experience with Bill.com for accounts payable management preferred
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise versions is a valuable plus
- Proficient in Google Workspace environment (Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Tech-savvy with ability to quickly adapt to new software platforms and tools
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Nonprofit accounting background strongly preferred
- Comfortable with phone communications and real-time team collaboration
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Spanish language skills helpful but not required
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team connectivity
