Schedule:

Responsibilities:

* Process and successfully appeal denied home health care insurance claims.

* Prepare and submit medical claims appeals to various Managed Medicare insurance companies.

* Review medical records and coordinate with clinical managers before the claim appeal is submitted to insurance company.

* Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes to ensure timely reimbursement.

* Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information as required.

* Resolve billing issues and respond to inquiries from both patients and insurance companies.

* Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contractual discounts.

* Prepare, review, and transmit claims appeals efficiently using designated billing software.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and policies to ensure compliance.

* Keep meticulous records of patient billing information and payment status.

* Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist.

* MUST HAVE A WINDOWS OS COMPUTER

* Comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.

* Comprehensive knowledge of home health care terminology, rules, and regulations.

* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

* Strong familiarity with medical terminology and extensive experience with healthcare billing processes.

* Proficiency in medical billing software, such as myUnity by Netsmart, EPIC for United Healthcare, RevConnect, Inovalon, and others.

* Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

* High school diploma; a certification in medical billing or a related field is a plus.
