Total Weekly Hours: 35–40 hours per week standard; up to 70–80 hours during busy season (January–April)
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a forward-thinking accounting firm as a Tax Manager, with clear advancement potential into a leadership role. You’ll independently manage complex tax returns while playing a key role in a collaborative team that values critical thinking, precision, and professional growth.
During the busy season, you’ll be at the center of high-volume tax preparation. In the off-season, you’ll focus on strategic planning and professional development. The firm's fully digital workflow and use of modern tools offer an efficient, streamlined work environment where your expertise can truly shine.
Responsibilities
Prepare a wide range of tax returns—including business, individual, trust, and non-profit—independently and accurately
Analyze complex tax scenarios and proactively identify risks, issues, and optimization opportunities
Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback prior to partner review
Communicate with clients professionally via email regarding documentation and tax-related queries
Manage a seasonal workload with extended hours during peak season (January–April)
Participate in daily team communications and contribute to strategic planning discussions
Grow into a leadership role by mentoring junior team members and assuming management responsibilities over time
Use electronic document management systems and client portals for seamless workflow execution
Collaborate directly with firm partners on advanced tax planning and complex tax matters
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in preparing a variety of tax return types, with the ability to work independently
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written communication skills in English, particularly for professional client correspondence
Self-driven, career-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
Comfortable with digital tools and workflows; able to quickly adapt to new systems and platforms
Experience with ProSeries or similar tax software is preferred
Willingness to work extended hours during tax season while maintaining high standards
Interest and potential in leading teams and mentoring junior staff
