Job Description
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to dive into the exciting world of film production while utilising core accounting expertise. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy across various high-profile film projects, working directly with production teams in a creative and innovative environment where your attention to detail and financial precision are essential to project success. The role offers the unique experience of working on one project at a time, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in each production’s financial journey from development through completion, with the flexibility to transition between different exciting projects as they evolve.
Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive bookkeeping duties for individual film production projects, ensuring financial accuracy throughout the production lifecycle
- Maintain detailed financial records for project-specific entities, adapting to unique production company structures as projects transition
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping operations with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced creative environment
- Provide additional administrative support alongside core bookkeeping functions to support production teams
- Ensure full compliance with UK financial regulations and tax requirements specific to film production
- Support project-based financial tracking and reporting, contributing to the success of investor-backed productions
- Collaborate with production teams to maintain accurate financial oversight across multiple concurrent projects
Requirements
- Essential Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and Xero (non-negotiable requirements)
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience with strong UK regulatory knowledge and familiarity with UK accounting practices
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills with ability to work effectively with diverse accents and international teams
- Industry Background: Previous experience with UK-based companies required; film industry accounting experience highly preferred but comprehensive training provided
- Professional Qualities: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to adapt to different project structures, and comfort with periodic transitions between production companies
- Work Environment: Comfortable with remote work in a secure, compliant digital environment with access to cutting-edge accounting tools and AI-powered communication assistance
