Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Cost Accountant to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project expenses, managing payment applications, handling invoicing, and ensuring accurate accounting activities. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage project expenses to ensure they align with budgets and forecasts.
  • Review and process applications for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
  • Handle all aspects of invoicing, including preparation, submission, and follow-up.
  • Oversee accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Applicant shall be highly reliable, accurate, and discreet
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous software experience with Acumatica a plus.
