The Role:

As the Senior Director of Philanthropy at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center (PCSTMC), you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our philanthropic efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll lead initiatives to achieve priority fundraising goals, with a focus on securing major gifts ($100,000+) and principal gifts ($1,000,000+). You will cultivate meaningful connections with both internal and external stakeholders, aligning them with PCSTMC's strategic objectives and enhancing philanthropic support.

What You'll Do:

  • Philanthropy Strategist: Develop and execute innovative strategies to maximize relationships and donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, and organizations.
  • Major Gift Maestro: Manage a personal portfolio of 75-100 major donors and prospects, employing identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to optimize fundraising success.
  • Collaborative Visionary: Work closely with the Executive Director and medical leadership to identify service line needs and foster trusted relationships with physician champions, driving fundraising efforts forward.
  • Partnership Builder: Serve as a dynamic thought partner with the Foundation team, devising creative approaches to meet both short- and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Donor Relationship Architect: Lead efforts to develop lifelong connections between the organization and donors, providing opportunities for meaningful involvement and engagement.
  • Operational Supporter: Assist the Executive Director with service line development, leadership council meetings, and related events, ensuring successful engagement and follow-through.

What You'll Bring:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree is required, while a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with comprehensive experience highly preferred.
  • Results-Oriented Approach: Action-oriented and results-driven, with a focus on achieving fundraising objectives.
  • Donor-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated experience in identifying and engaging new prospective donors, with an ability to interact with high-net-worth individuals across diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • Professional Integrity: Displaying discretion and professionalism, in alignment with organizational values.
  • Communication Skills: Skilled listener and effective presenter, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Enthusiastic Vision: A genuine enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and vision, alongside thorough knowledge of fundraising strategies, including major and principal gift acquisition.
  • Relationship Building Expertise: Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with the Foundation team, leadership, physicians, staff, volunteers, donors, and prospects.
