We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to lead the core manufacturing value chain (sewing) within the plant taking responsibility for producing the required products in the required quantity and quality in the required time frame at an optimal cost consistently and sustainably, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive employees development through periodic coaching & mentoring by being in contact with the Human Resources department so as to ensure the training and development needs of all employees are identified and suitable development interventions are implemented in order to ensure that the capabilities of all employees are developed in line with the current and future organizational requirements and well-being of the functional team.
  • Develop and implement procedures to build, maintain and enhance good relations within all levels of the plant by ensuring all employee grievances/issues are resolved effectively thereby building a harmonious environment within the factory.
  • Work collaboratively with peers (plant internal peers & external: Divisional/Central peers) to enable a positive mindset of plant employees working towards a common goal.
  • Develop and implement objectives and targets for departments by aligning to the manufacturing strategy together with the process owners and review the same periodically in order to meet organizational objectives.
  • Drive lean principles (rules and tools) and problem solving culture within the plant to increase productivity.
  • Ensure that all administrative functions of the department are effectively carried out and the maintenance of the factory environment is up to standard whilst overlooking the need for any improvements in the same.
  • Oversee the operations of the factory and attend morning meeting reviews with GLs and VSM heads (PED, Commitment, quality rates, defects) to ensure the production quantities are delivered as per the agreed style, within the product plan in a timely manner – whilst conforming to the required quality standards in order to meet customer delivery dates and expectations.
  • Review factory performance, identify issues pertaining to quality, efficiency, absenteeism and skill level.,  and discuss with team the possible solutions whilst continuously working towards achieving and improving systems, processes and standards in order to achieve the most optimum factory environment that will serve to meet the objectives set by the organization all the while, fulfilling customer expectations.
  • Attend the planning meeting with the contribution of the VSM leaders and monitoring health of the production plan, MB (Month Beginning) and weekly frozen plan and address the challenges to ensure smooth operations and OTD, supporting subordinates to solve recurring problems.
  • Ensure timely support is given by the production team to support the NPI process (PP/style/briefing/pilot) and identify future customer trends while working with the plant team to build those capabilities.
  • Participate with the VSAM for the input security meeting with the operations team and work collaboratively for module production continuity in order to achieve planned standard hours.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree in Textile Engineering or Equivalent field.
  • Postgraduate Degree in any relevant discipline.
  • 4 - 5 years of experience.
  • Negotiation & Influencing Skills.
  • Communication skills.
