Senior Product Owner – Life COO
12 month Fixed-Term Contract
Join a major transformation program within a leading Life business, focused on modernising core systems and processes that support investment operations and long-term product delivery.
We’re looking for an Senior Product Owner who can bring together business needs, technical delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to drive outcomes in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Based in the COO Office of our Life business, this role plays a pivotal part in modernising our front-office investment systems.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the front office, risk, quant, and vendor teams to define, prioritise, and deliver requirements that support business growth and operational efficiency.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to a market leading Life business and well-respected Investment firm.
Role Responsibilities:
Own the product delivery for high-profile strategic transformation initiatives.
Define and document business processes, product/trade life cycles, and technical requirements related to investment systems.
Lead the creation and prioritisation of business requirements, user stories, impact assessments, and solution designs in collaboration with stakeholders and delivery teams.
Act as the primary liaison between business, technology, and project teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable deliverables for development teams and support ongoing product backlog refinement.
Coordinate testing efforts and work closely with Test Managers to ensure successful delivery and operational readiness.
Facilitate workshops and ongoing engagement with users to gather feedback and drive iterative improvement.
Manage relationships with external vendors ensuring delivery outcomes meet business expectations.
Maintain clear and high-quality documentation across business requirements, solution designs, and implemented features.
Support release planning, issue resolution, and project coordination as part of a broader transformation program.
Communicate project progress and status to stakeholders at the Executive level.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience as a Product Owner working on large-scale transformation within an Investment Bank, Investment Manager or Insurance firm.
Deep understanding of financial products and the trade lifecycle across front, middle and back-office functions.
Strong delivery mindset, with the ability to align technical execution with business strategy.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to bridge business and technical domains.
High accountability and autonomy, using sound judgment to navigate ambiguity and drive progress.
Familiarity with financial risk and platforms commonly used within an investment setting.
