Senior Specialist-Procurement

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and innovative sourcing solutions.
• Negotiate high-value contracts, ensuring quality, compliance, and best-value outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Manage approved supplier lists and ensure products/services meet required standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between the organization and suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms
• Coordinate with internal teams (Technical, Engineering, Legal, Finance) to meet procurement needs.
• Provide clear, regular updates to management on procurement activities and supplier performance.   
• Source and evaluate new suppliers to expand procurement options.
• Stay updated on market trends and procurement best practices.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Introduce innovative risk assessment and mitigation approaches.

Knowledge & Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
• Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
• Certifications linked to the Procurement & Supply Chain industry would be beneficial.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a procurement officer or related position
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
• Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
