The Public Safety Manager for Workplace Violence Prevention and Response is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the healthcare system’s comprehensive workplace violence (WPV) prevention and response program. This position coordinates efforts across departments to mitigate risk, educate staff, and support incident response and recovery efforts related to workplace violence and threats to our caregivers, facilities and organization.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains a system-wide workplace violence prevention and response program in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Conducts and manages behavioral threat assessments in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Human Resources, Behavioral Health, Legal, and external partners as needed.
  • Performs physical site threat and vulnerability assessments across hospitals, clinics, and administrative locations; identifies security risks and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Designs and delivers training for staff on workplace violence prevention, de-escalation techniques, situational awareness, and emergency response drills.
  • Coordinates and supports post-incident response activities, including immediate safety measures, staff support, and root cause analysis.
  • Collects, monitors, and analyzes WPV-related data; develops regular reports and dashboards to inform leadership and drive process improvement.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on WPV-related policies, threat mitigation strategies, and staff training practices.
  • Collaborates with public safety, clinical, and administrative teams to integrate WPV prevention into emergency management, facility security planning, and staff development efforts.
  • Supports the development and continuous improvement of WPV-related policies, procedures, and communication plans.
  • Oversees and manages the workplace violence prevention committee meetings at both the system and facility level, including agenda setting, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry standards, legal requirements, and best practices related to violence prevention and threat management in healthcare settings.

Required Qualificationsexperience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workplace violence management, preferably within a healthcare, public safety, or high-risk organizational setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience conducting and evaluating both physical and behavioral threat assessments.

    Demonstrated Experience In:

  • Behavioral threat assessment and case management
  • Physical site security assessments and risk mitigation planning
  • Training facilitation on workplace violence prevention, de-escalation, and response drills
  • Knowledge of OSHA, The Joint Commission, and CMS requirements related to workplace safety and violence prevention.

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Behavioral Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Supervisory certification with the Internation Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and respond effectively to crisis situations.Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written). This job requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Drivers License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier. 
  • Possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire, an armed CLEET Security Guard license or a current or retired police commission.
