A bit about the role
Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership have commissioned services based in Glasgow to work alongside families in a flexible and strengths based way to help them achieve positive outcomes. As part of a city-wide strategy, the service will promote the wellbeing of children and young people aged 12+ years to support them to stay at home and thrive with their families within their local communities by offering the right support at the right time.
Our shared vision is to support children and young people to live with their parents and siblings, or where this is in the best interest of children, with their extended family, enabling them to grow up in their community with their friends, and attend their local school.
To help us deliver on this vision, we’re currently looking to recruit a Family Support Coordinator—a key role that will help shape and strengthen our support for families across Glasgow. If you're passionate about making a meaningful difference and have the skills to lead, collaborate, and innovate, we’d love to hear from you.
How you’ll help to create brighter futures
Some key responsibilities for the Family Support Coordinator role are;
- Collaborate with senior personnel and management to assess and enhance service delivery, fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and business growth, especially in designated work areas.
- Support children, young people, and families by designing and implementing interventions, and coordinating with various agencies and professionals.
- Engage in key multiagency activities, such as organising and leading service planning sessions, conducting home visits, and overseeing conference meetings when suitable.
- Lead and manage staff directly, enforcing relevant policies and procedures, and fostering growth through coaching and mentorship.
- Significant post qualification experience of working with children, young people and or families in a multi-agency environment and achieving positive outcomes through intervention.
- To manage and develop subordinate staff or a team.
- Advanced experience of chairing, supporting and contributing to service planning meetings.
- Experience of the development and practice of community working, including influencing involvement.
- Working in collaboration to achieve change within your immediate team and wider multi agency partnerships.
- Experience of collating and producing reports, capturing and progressing the relevant information for a desired outcome.
- Experience of effective partnership working.
