The opportunity
As an Infrastructure Solution Architect specialising in secure network and infrastructure design, you will play a critical role in shaping secure, scalable, and resilient environments that support complex system transitions. You’ll be responsible for architecting secure zones and transitional environments that enable controlled data flows, system staging, and integration readiness—ensuring operational continuity and risk mitigation throughout the transformation lifecycle.
This is a hybrid role based in Australia. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure architectures that align with enterprise security standards and business objectives.
Your key responsibilities
- Architect Secure Environments: Design secure network and infrastructure architectures that support transitional environments, enabling controlled communications and system staging.
- Risk and Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and ensure alignment with enterprise security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Integration Readiness: Enable the staging and validation of integrated systems prior to migration, ensuring alignment of data flows, integration services, and operational dependencies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with security, infrastructure, and application teams to embed security controls and architectural best practices into transitional and target environments.
- Solution Design Leadership: Lead the development of architectural artefacts, including high-level designs, security models, and transition blueprints.
- Governance and Assurance: Participate in architecture governance forums, providing assurance that solutions meet enterprise and security architecture principles.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong experience in designing secure network and infrastructure solutions, ideally in complex or regulated environments.
- Deep understanding of architectures, secure zones, and transitional environments supporting system migrations or integrations.
- Proficiency in cloud and hybrid infrastructure models, including secure connectivity and identity management.
- Understanding in cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, ASD Essential Eight).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading solution design across multiple domains.
- Understanding of core on-prem infrastructure platforms and services (AD, Hypervisor platforms, Application environment services, Azure & AWS PaaS and SaaS offerings etc..)
- Able to produce solution and product design documentation.
- Familiar with enterprise IT operational governance practices (CAB, SDA, ARB etc..)
- Familiar with Application environment orchestration and SDLC life cycle
- Familiar with Microsoft productivity suite services and architecture including migration of services to new organisation
- Experience with executing core infrastructure migration activities
Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in secure system transitions, data migrations, or M&A-related IT transformations.
- A passion for secure design and a proactive approach to solving complex architectural challenges.
