Position Overview

RiskRelease is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to spearhead national growth in the multifamily housing sector. This founding sales leadership role is responsible for driving new client acquisition, expanding market presence, and building strategic partnerships with owners, operators, and management companies. The ideal candidate is a high-performing sales leader with a track record of exceeding revenue targets, navigating complex sales cycles, and influencing executive decision-makers. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive Strategic Growth – Develop and execute a national business development strategy to expand RiskRelease’s presence in the multifamily, student housing, and single-family rental markets.
  • Acquire High-Value Clients – Identify, engage, and secure partnerships with property owners, operators, and management companies through targeted outreach, networking, and industry relationships.
  • Consult and Influence – Conduct in-depth needs assessments, align RiskRelease solutions to client objectives, and position the company as a trusted partner and thought leader.
  • Negotiate and Close – Lead contract negotiations and close complex, high-value deals that deliver long-term revenue growth.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless onboarding, retention, and upsell opportunities.
  • Represent the Brand – Serve as a visible company representative at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, building networks and reinforcing RiskRelease’s market leadership.
  • Leverage Market Intelligence – Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Deliver on Targets – Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals, maintaining accurate sales forecasts and pipeline visibility for the executive team.

Requirements

What You Will Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years of B2B sales success in the multifamily or real estate industry, with consistent overachievement of revenue targets.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree (MBA) or advanced degree in a business-related discipline preferred. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the multifamily market, including the operational needs of property owners and operators.
  • Performance Record: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue goals in a quota-driven environment.
  • Sales Expertise: Strong negotiation, closing, and objection-handling skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust quickly.
  • Technology: Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales productivity tools, Microsoft Office Suite (ie, Excell, Outlook Word) or equivalent. 
  • Work Style: Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience selling SaaS or technology-enabled solutions in the real estate sector.
  • Familiarity with consultative and solution-based selling methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC, Challenger).
  • Proven success in developing new markets or launching new products.
  • Strong market research and competitive analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to represent the company in high-visibility industry forums.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and using office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment (up to 25 lbs).
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment with frequent use of computers and telephones.
  • Less than 20% travel for client meetings, presentations, and industry events as needed. 
  • Ability to work on-site preferred, potential for hybrid or remote work.
