About the role

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) within the Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) team at Mater Mothers Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and exceptional healthcare environment. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 (RN3) per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Your role will focus on quality, research and education, while acting as one of the clinical leads and experts for the unit.

As a valued member of the team you will:

  • Provide clinical expertise in the ongoing review and implementation of advanced clinical practice by participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of care to patients based on evidence and recognised practice standards
  • Demonstrate leadership which uses and facilitates evidence-based practice which is visionary, creative and innovative when considering contemporary neonatal issues in relation to service delivery, clinical practice and research; as well as informing the development, management and ongoing review of clinical processes
  • Actively contribute through the provision of expert clinical advice and effective specialty education programs that focus on improving the capability of nurses and teams to deliver safe quality care
  • Translate evidence into best practice, and to enhance collegial relationships within and outside the organisation

About you:

As the successful candidate you will possess:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and no restrictions
  • Minimum 5 years full time equivalent post-registration experience in neonatal nursing
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, clinical supervision, problem solving and decision- making skills
  • Proven ability to provide consultancy support to nurses and other health professionals
  • Commitment to and active engagement in quality improvement activities with a focus on improvements in clinical care standards
  • Hold a master’s qualification (or working towards) – essential
