Description
Job Description for: Accounting Clerk
Time commitment: Part time, 20-29 hours per week
Reports to: Controller
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Compensation: $20.00/hour
Looking for a driven self-starter. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of accounting principles and will play a supporting role in the accounting department. This is a growing company with tasks requiring innovation, technical thinking, and flexibility.
General Accounting Duties:
- Accounts Payable and employee reimbursements
- Insurance Accounting - Receiving, processing, and recording payments from insurance.
- Regular communication with clients resolving questions and concerns about billing and insurance
- Work closely with 3rd party insurance billing company
- Commercial Credit Card accounting
- Assisting in creating and sending monthly invoices
- Collaborate on company budgets, oversight, and reporting
- Student Trust Cash Accounting
-Petty cash, Journal Entries, account creation, reconciliation - AP/AR adjusting Journal Entries
- Collaborate in improving, creating, and implementing financial procedures
- Other department duties as needed
Requirements
Computer Experience:
- Basic computer skills and experience with standard business and accounting software
- Experience with Excel (graphs, pivot tables, lookups, models, reporting)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
- Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Looker Studio, etc)
Other Skills / Experience required:
- Understanding of accounting principles, concepts, strategy, and laws
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
- Must be self-motivated and a team player
- Adaptable
- Growth mindset/willingness to learn
