Description
Job Summary
As Warehouse Manager at L&S Mechanical, you would be responsible for managing one of the five L&S Mechanical warehouses and the staff of an Assistant Warehouse Manager. This position oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of material across multiple trades.
Primary Functions
- Oversee and maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring accurate tracking, and minimizing discrepancies
- Train, supervise and evaluate staff to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse operations, procedures and processes
- Ensure all operations are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory compliance to include OSHA knowledge and compliance
- Oversee the maintenance, operation, and replacement of warehouse equipment
- Build and maintain positive rapport with suppliers and external & internal customers to ensure timely deliveries and optimal service
- Monitor performance metrics, prepare reports, and analyze data to drive improvement in operations
- Address any operational challenges, inventory discrepancies, or staff issues that arise
- Ensure customer orders are processed on time and address any customer-related concerns
- Perform audits and prepare action plans
- Conduct regular team meetings
Qualifications
- Warehouse management experience required and should include, but not limited to:
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Experience in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical inventory control is preferred
- Experience with Unity, ERP or WMS preferred
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to coach, train, mentor and lead by example
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with a key emphasis on Excel and Outlook
- Analytical
- Ability to maintain productivity and efficiency in a fast paced, high-pressure setting
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions
- Climbing ladders and steep stairs
- Crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching
- Routinely lifting heavy objects of more than 50 pounds
