Communities In Schools is hiring a Director of Strategic Partnerships who is responsible for building relationships to fully leverage local providers, build urban partners’ capacity to expand into rural Central Texas areas, work with school districts to develop partnerships processes and generally increase collective impact for students and families through strategy, coordination and resource development.
Working cross-functionally, the Director stewards partnerships with government, corporate, nonprofit, and education sectors, while fostering community engagement. Through community listening, collaborative design, and continuous evaluation, this role amplifies community voice and translates insight into high-quality, client-centered services.

What we offer:
CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $5,000/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint, depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in a community partnership and/or collaboration management, partner marketing, account management or business/partner development role
- Demonstrated results in growing and sustaining a successful community partnership program
- Demonstrated project management experience with strong time management and organizational skills to effectively supervise projects to completion
- Strong, demonstrated use of qualitative and quantitative data to create reports and make internal and external presentations
- Demonstrated public speaking and large group facilitation experience, both in person and virtually
- Demonstrated experience leading group trainings and workshops
- Demonstrated experience in executing projects effectively with little direction
- Systems thinker with demonstrated ability to operationalize ideas from inception to full implementation
- Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or management, marketing, communications or related field
- Knowledge of principles and practices of initiating, building and maintaining high-impact community partnerships and collaborations to further the organization’s mission
- Knowledge of effective marketing practices
- Solid public speaking, written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persuasive
- Demonstrated ability to introduce and lead change management initiatives Highest level of attention to detail and the ability to stay organized and keep work moving forward with many simultaneous projects and goals
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently on complex initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to operate with humility, an open mind, and a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure in complex and ambiguous situations
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executives, operations teams, creative teams, and program development teams
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor and appearance
- Experience using a database(s) on a Salesforce platform is highly preferred
Access to reliable transportation is required
What you’ll do:
- Assess the organization’s need for community partnerships to support CISCT programs
- Collaborate with others (e.g. direct service staff, agency leaders, community organizations, business community etc.) for the purpose of building partnerships, as well as implementing and maintaining services and/or programs
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with community-based organizations, including knowledge of their programs and offer consultative and resource support on community partnerships issues as needed
- Translate partnership strategy into actionable programs with existing or new partners Maintain ongoing and responsive communication with partners
- Develop and implement partnership strategies for Central Texas communities served by CIS which align with the agency’s priorities and growth strategies
- Manage new partner agreements and MOU’s, from negotiating scope to supporting execution of agreement/contracts
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational policies and procedures that facilitate partnership development and retention
- Achieve alignment across functional organizations that are cultivating potential partnership opportunities
- Measure and evaluate individual partnerships and the collective impact of cross-agency partnerships
- Participate in the CIS team approach to problem-solving
- Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships
Reporting structure: This position is supervised by the Sr. Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships and may supervise CIS staff, volunteers, work-study students, interns, or AmeriCorps members as appropriate.
Worksite: This is a full-time, position based at Communities In Schools of Central Texas’ St. Elmo office with frequent travel within the Central Texas 5-county region. The Director will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.
