Description
Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a creative and strategic Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and execute comprehensive internal and external communications. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and managing the public perception of Hospice of the Piedmont, with the goal of promoting our compassionate services and informing potential referrers, patients and families, and philanthropic supporters.
With broad oversight and a collaborative spirit, the Marketing and Communications Manager works closely with senior leadership to design and implement strategic initiatives that support organizational goals. This role requires a strong storyteller and strategic thinker who can translate our mission into compelling messaging across multiple platforms, while also ensuring alignment with our values and vision.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Digital/Social Marketing (20% of time)
- Creates and plans content for HOP social media accounts; responds to all social inquiries
- Develops and implements digital marketing strategies for display/search/etc. campaigns
- Manages all paid digital campaigns
- Tracks and provides monthly reports on digital and social performance/engagement
Marketing (20% of time)
- Maintains and protects the HOP brand to ensure consistency across all initiatives/communications
- Plans, negotiates, and designs print, digital, broadcast and radio advertisements, as needed
- Maintains and updates the HOP website, always ensuring accuracy
- Creates and/or revises content for agency-wide brochures and other marketing materials
- Leads and oversees CRM program to identify patient volume opportunities
Communications (20% of time)
- Leads all internal communication initiatives including employee email updates
- Serves as a partner to all departments within HOP and works with them on communication needs, as requested
- Develops messaging for key external initiatives
- Represents HOP at community events (speaking events, community table events, etc.)
- Supervises and coordinates freelance/volunteer creative contributors (photographers/writers/etc.)
Media Relations (20% of time)
- Serves as liaison to all media contacts; builds proactive relationships with media members, as appropriate, on both local and national levels
- Works to pro-actively achieve earned media for HOP
- Responds and coordinates all media inquiries in a timely manner
- Writes and distributes press releases and public service announcements
Strategic Planning (20%)
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing market share and market trends for the organization.
- Provides on-going reporting of market and business metrics to guide planning and strategic decision making.
- Makes recommendations on the strategic direction of the organization to improve the delivery of end-of-life service in the community.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to design strategies and tactical processes surrounding new initiatives/programs to enable the company to meet its objectives/goals.
- Provides ad-hoc reporting, as needed, to support leadership.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing and/or communications required.
- Experience in program management strongly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, and/or HTML code strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional writing ability and communication skills.
- High-level computer literacy and familiarity with new technologies, including social media, Google Analytics, SEO, etc.
- Proficient in internal and external promotion strategies, organizational and strategic communications, public speaking, media relations, and earned and paid media opportunities preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers required.

- Communicates by phone, writing, speaking, and through various technological mediums
- Lifting up to 20 pounds

- General fast-paced work environment
