the job:

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, your role is to advocate for amika's haircare product portfolio and manage the entire commercialization process for new products, limited editions, and promotional programs, all aimed at supporting brand growth. This role requires proven experience in the prestige haircare market, with strong knowledge across categories including, but not limited to, shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, styling products, and dry shampoos. This experience is critical for translating category insights into highly efficacious, market‑leading products that resonate with both professional and consumer audiences. 

You’ll play a critical role in building amika’s product portfolio and go-to-market strategy. You’ll support the development of our 3-year product strategy and innovation pipeline—balancing data, insights, and consumer intuition to help drive growth and deepen brand equity. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of all hair types, textures, and use‑case scenarios, identifying patterns in trends and shifts in consumer needs to uncover white space opportunities. 

Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, this role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, someone who can zoom out to identify market opportunities, and zoom in to flawlessly execute a launch. You’ll partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Purchasing, Finance, Creative, and Supply Chain/Logistics, to ensure a swift go-to-market process, bringing products to market efficiently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. 


salary: $110,000 - $125,000 + bonus

location: remotes (must be based in + have the right to work in the US)



what you'll do:

New Product Launch and Portfolio Management: 

  • Own and manage all aspects of product and portfolio management for the amika brand, including pricing recommendations, SKU management, sample development strategy, and the line edit process 
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a 3-year product category strategy and pipeline—from concept to final market launch—including innovation, reformulations, limited editions, promotional kits, holiday programs, and commercial moments 
  • Lead the end-to-end NPL process with cross-functional partners to bring all development projects from concept to shelf, playing a key role in driving monthly Stage Gate meetings to secure timely senior leadership approvals 
  • Develop and present kickoff documentation and decks related to new formula development (PDRs) and packaging briefs, clearly articulating concept rationale, objectives, and timelines 
  • Manage key workstreams for new product launches, including pricing, packaging and artwork development, claims, benefits, copy, creative asset needs, and legal/regulatory routing 
  • Develop compelling launch presentations that bring newness to life—owning positioning, RTBs, financial analysis, and GTM strategy recommendations 
  • Track and manage the annual product testing and claims budget, aligned to brand marketing priorities; submit invoices and monitor spend-to-budget 
  • Act as a strategic steward of product claims, positioning, and messaging hierarchy during GTM development to ensure consistency and brand alignment across touchpoints 
  • Analyze product launch opportunities (total addressable market, target audience fit, pricing strategy, competitive mapping) to inform business cases and forecasting inputs 
  • Partner with Product Development to identify white space opportunities and develop concepts that address consumer needs, assortment gaps, or growth areas 

Business Analysis / Competitive Research: 

  • Analyze and synthesize data across categories, competitors, internal sales, CRM, and syndicated research (e.g., NPD, Kline, Mintel) to inform product strategy and storytelling 
  • Conduct competitive audits across key categories and channels; surface actionable insights on pricing, claims, innovation formats, and packaging trends 
  • Stay immersed in emerging trends across beauty, wellness, and lifestyle spaces to ensure innovation pipeline reflects cultural relevance and consumer desire 
  • Leverage internal portfolio reporting to assess core and new launch performance; make recommendations on discontinuations, hero skus, or reactivation opportunities 


must haves:

  • 6–8 years of experience in product marketing, brand management, or innovation within the beauty, haircare, or personal care industry 
  • 1+ years of people management or supervisory experience. 
  • Experience leading multiple complex product launches from end-to-end 
  • Strong understanding of innovation processes, including concept development, pricing strategy, positioning, claims, and GTM 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting sales performance, consumer insights, and market data 
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional communication skills 
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Asana, and data platforms like NPD or Mintel 
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to balance creative thinking and business acumen 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, nimble environment where ownership and adaptability are key
