Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Talent Specialist to our team to support our continued growth.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees for the Bennett Road facility. The Talent Specialist will factor in the long-term goals of the organization by acknowledging that people play a huge role in our company’s future success. 


The Talent Specialist is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding to reduce potential liabilities for the organization. In addition, this role will work to create Company brand awareness within the community by seeking out opportunities to promote and engage the Toledo Tool & Die name. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Performs employment-related duties including recruiting, screening, completing new hire paperwork & conducting orientations; participates in formulating recruitment strategies for all positions; ensures that all searches are conducted in accordance with applicable rules, state and federal employment laws; and coordinates all post job offer pre-employment screenings. 
  • Uses a variety of sourcing methods (recruitment sites, referrals, LinkedIn, social media, etc.) to find a diverse qualified applicant pool; proactively seek and evaluate the most qualified candidates.
  • Takes ownership for the scheduling of orientation and onboarding and effectively communicates with Plant Management details on upcoming new hires.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.
  • Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Coordinates participation in, sets up display, and works at job fairs and career fairs.
  • Builds job descriptions for open requisitions, prepares advertisements and posts in various specialized venues to increase the number of qualified applicants.
  • Screens, conducts interviews or provides guidance to the interview selection process, and recommends prospective employees for employment in entry-level and experienced positions.
  • Recommends new approaches, continual improvements in efficiency, cost containment, more automated electronic processes for the department and with regard to all the services provided by the department. 
  • Maintains human resources records (both information systems and hard copy files) and compiles reports from the databases.
  • Communicates and informs employees of expectations related to their work environment, such as workplace behavior and appearance; ensure employees understand the job responsibilities and work hours; provides information regarding HR policies, programs and employee information.
  • Maintains a professional and appropriate relationship with coworkers, hourly workforce, customers, vendors, and community members. 
  • Contributes to the overall efficient operation of the HR department and fosters a team environment; participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems

Requirements

  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; OR a minimum of 5 years of a combination of education, training, and experience in the Human Resources field-strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in full-cycle recruiting with an hourly workforce.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification, preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.


GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible and advance existing skill sets to be able to serve future office needs in additional capacities.

  • Ability to take direction, coaching, and act positively to improve performance.

SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • High efficiency with Excel required.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems. 
  • Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly.
  • Proficient keyboarding and typing skills.
