Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Azure Government & Defense
We're seeking a motivated Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and learn the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure Government cloud and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in deploying and managing cloud architectures using Azure Government cloud platform
Manage and maintain RabbitMQ message queuing systems including clustering, configuration, and performance monitoring
Learn and contribute to infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt for modular, reusable configurations
Support GitLab CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance for automated infrastructure deployment
Monitor system performance, assist with troubleshooting, and help optimize resource utilization
Learn and apply DoD security standards, NIST frameworks, and FedRAMP requirements
Collaborate with senior engineers and development teams to support scalable, reliable application infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

1-2 years experience with Azure cloud platform (Azure Government experience preferred)
Active Secret security clearance
Security+ certification or other DoD 8140 approved certification
Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ administration, clustering, and troubleshooting
Basic understanding of infrastructure as code concepts (Terraform experience preferred)
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and GitLab or similar platforms
Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (Podman, Kubernetes)
Foundational scripting skills (Python, Bash)
Interest in learning DoD security frameworks and compliance requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
Ability to travel regularly for on-site work at Ft. Meade or Crystal City locations

Preferred:

Azure fundamentals certification or working toward Azure certifications
Experience with other message brokers and enterprise integration patterns
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Basic understanding of networking and security concepts
Educational background in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Previous internship or project experience with cloud technologies
Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
