PC Support Technician IT

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a PC Support Technician at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Division's desktops, laptops, print devices, as well as Plant and remote users to ensure optimal software and hardware performance, reliability, troubleshooting, and data security.

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure optimal software and hardware performance, reliability, troubleshooting, and data security. This will involve daily communication with the users and corporate IT support staff to provide problem solving, troubleshooting, and support.

Responsibilities: 

Your additional responsibilities as PC Support Technician will include:

• Responsible for the deployment and ongoing computer support of all Division’s PCs and printers
• Supports laptop users (including plant and remote users)
• Administers the creation and maintenance of domain users and groups using Active Directory
• Administers the setup and maintenance of Exchange email users and mailboxes
• Manages the purchasing of all Division computer equipment and software
• Ensures compliance with Corporate software polices; especially with respect to ensuring the Division is purchasing legal copies of software.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory of all equipment in the data processing network, as well as associated maintenance contracts and agreements. 
• Maintain up-to-date inventory of all IP addresses.

Skills / Requirements

• Associates Degree
• Minimum 2-3 years computer setup, desktop user support, and computer hardware support
• Basic understanding of networking concepts
• In depth knowledge and experience working with all current versions of Microsoft desktop operating systems
• Basic knowledge and experience working SAP preferred
• Experienced using Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. 
• Experienced in Cisco Meraki preferred
