GENERAL SUMMARY
The Patient Registration Supervisor (ED) reports to the Manager of Registration & Central Scheduling. The primary job function is to provide the leadership and management skills necessary to develop, implement, monitor, and coordinate the day to day operations of the of emergency room registration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
Licensure:
• None
Experience:
• Three to five years of related work experience as a registrar in a hospital setting is preferred
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Supervises the overall operations of ED Patient Registration and assists with the operations of Main Registration and Central Scheduling in the absence of their Supervisor.
2. Assists in screening and the selection of new employees.
3. Assists in the development of specific objectives, budgets and performance standards for the department.
4. Ensures that any physicians, third party payers and inter-departmental complaints and misunderstandings are resolved.
5. Provides assistance and leadership direction to the Family Health Center, other SOMC external health care facilities and hospital departments.
6. Supports collection of customers' Out of Pocket expenses and payments as necessary in accordance with department guidelines.
7. Develops and performs education and training programs for employees.
8. Monitors skill level of staff and assists in maintaining staff's competency.
9. Reviews the AHIQA Dashboard to manager staffs accuracy to ensure they meet the department standards
10. Monitors staff activities.
