We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Forest School Teacher to be based in our Sydenham Nursery. The nursery offers state-of-the-art facilities, combining bright and spacious indoor rooms along with fabulous outdoor areas.
You can earn up to £29,120 per annum, depending on experience, working Full time (40 hours per week).
 
A Forest School Teacher is responsible for:
  • Engaging children in outdoor learning. 
  • Experiences in a woodland or natural environment. 
  • Plan and facilitate activities that promote ecological awareness, outdoor skills, teamwork, and personal development.
  • Ensuring safety, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a love for nature while supporting children's physical, emotional, and social growth.
  • Plan and lead outdoor activities that promote exploration, environmental, awareness, personal development, including tailored support for SEN children.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, providing appropriate assistance for SEN children as needed.
  • Support children's social, emotional, and physical growth through inclusive, nature-based learning.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sustainable outdoor environment and resources.
  • Communicate with parents, caregivers, and colleagues regarding children's progress, including the development of SEN children, and adapt activities to meet diverse needs.
Things you need to know –
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Certificate and satisfactory employment references.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake online safeguarding training and all positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

* The welcome bonus will be paid in two instalments. £500 will be paid in the first salary payment after joining, then another £500 upon completion of probation (6 months, unless extended). The welcome bonus will be subject to normal Tax & NI deductions.
