We are now looking for a Health & Safety/Operations Officer to be responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment across the company’s operational sites.

Job Description

This role combines oversight of health and safety systems with day-to-day support for logistics and operational functions, working closely with the leadership team to drive a strong safety culture, support continuous improvement, and ensure smooth business operations.  Here is what you will do:
 
Health & Safety:
•    Ensure compliance with Samoa’s occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and company policies
•    Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
•    Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; recommend and implement corrective actions.
•    Deliver health and safety training and induction for new staff and contractors
•    Maintain up-to-date records for health and safety including PPE registers, first aid kits, and hazard logs
•    Lead or support health and safety committee meetings and initiatives
•    Run tool box talks for the different teams

Operations Support:
•    Assist with daily operational logistics, including workflow coordination, site processes, and general warehouse/yard oversight
•    Monitor asset maintenance schedules and ensure operational equipment is safe and in working order
•    Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams to ensure service delivery timelines are met
•    Support stock control, inventory processes, and order tracking where required
•    Assist in planning and implementing improvements in workflow efficiency

Compliance & Reporting:
•    Ensure all necessary documentation for safety, operations, and compliance is current and properly stored
•    Provide regular reports to management on safety performance, incident trends, and operational updates
•    Support internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions
 

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

•    Two to four years of experience in a health and safety, operations, logistics or similar role
•    Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations in Samoa
•    First aid certification
•    Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage teams at all levels
•    Organised, proactive, and able to balance safety responsibilities with operational support
•    A problem-solver with a hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
•    A valid Driver’s Licence is preferred
•    Must be fluent in both Samoan & English
