Trilon Group’s executive team brings experience spanning engineering, consulting, investment banking, and private equity.Trilon Group is hiring an Associate, Corporate Development to be an integral part of its investing efforts. Associate will have responsibilities that span the entire M&A transaction process, with an emphasis on deal origination. The Associate will typically function in a support role alongside the existing M&A team. This role is comparable to an associate role at a private equity firm.
Associate will have daily mentorship from the current M&A team and will report to Trilon’s VP of Corporate Development focused on deal origination. M&A Associates are expected to develop rapidly, and successful professionals will be offered a significant amount of autonomy and upward mobility through a variety of career paths within Trilon. This position provides a rare opportunity for meaningful responsibility, growth and development for someone with two to four years of work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching and Identifying firms in Trilon’s addressable market
- Reaching out to business owners via phone, email and in-person
- Managing our CRM and owning relationships with business owners
- Crafting a compelling message to business owners as to why they should partner with Trilon
- Qualifying and analyzing opportunities based on Trilon’s investment criteria
- Working with key stakeholders and senior management to win the deal and serve as the main point of contact for Trilon throughout the deal lifecycle
- Attending industry events and representing Trilon externally
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2-4 years of experience in a role with some form of business development preferred
- Demonstrated history of academic success
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong and demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Sound strategic and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of finance and M&A transaction concepts
