Job Summary/Description:
WLUC-TV6 is looking for a Weekend News Anchor/MMJ. The right person needs to be a great communicator on-air and online. This is a full-time position. The right person is the newsroom leader on weekends. They handle all aspects of our on-air and online presence and are responsible for checking on-air scripts for accuracy and concision. They must have a great attitude and work well with others. Their relationship with those on the assignment desk and reporters in the field is critical to a quality product. A strong on-air, conversational presentation is a must. You'll work three weekdays as an MMJ. You produce and anchor two evening newscasts on the weekends and help update the station website and social media.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Writing for on-air and online
- An eye for editorial suggestions related to structure, concision, and accuracy in scripts
- Working knowledge of videography and video editing
- Must meet deadlines and be able to multi-task
- Great attitude and enjoy working with others
- Strong work ethic
- Enjoy talking with people
- Professional appearance
- Strong on-air delivery and speaking voice
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Previous experience as an MMJ is preferred.
- Ability to handle Social Media, including website writing, Facebook, Twitter and more.
