Summary
The Lab Automation Lead is responsible for facilitating the daily operations, performance, and development of the Robotic Associate team. This role ensures the smooth execution of robotic workflows, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary liaison between robotics operations and cross-functional teams such as Innovation, Process Improvement, Facilities, and IT.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage Ticket queues and facilitate assigning tasks based on priority as needed.
- Prioritize and respond to tickets and projects, can quickly identify and solve the problems allowing for a quick resolution and restoration of laboratory to normal functionality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues that arise in a clinical production environment.
- Perform regular maintenance on instruments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all systems are operating efficiently.
- Communicate cross functional to ensure all teams/departments/stakeholders are appropriately informed regarding affected instrument status.
- Ensure that all documents and procedures are followed by the team.
- Oversee after hours scheduling for On-Call and make adjustments as needed.
- Identify trends with instruments repairs and upgrades for downtime tracking, focusing on identifying reoccurring problems and initiating replacements as needed.
- Evaluating SOPs periodic reviews and policy changes based on Development lab adjustments.
- Positioned as the main contact person for quality related documentation and logs needed for completion and review to maintain proper lab qualifications.
- Able to perform all day-to-day tasks of the Robotic Associate and be able to provide high level knowledge of troubleshooting procedures.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Engineering, or a related scientific field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in robotic operations, automation, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in a team lead capacity.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional exposure to manufacturing or warehouse areas, which may involve loud noises, dust, and varying temperatures.
The role may require occasional travel for training purposes.
Schedule is comprised of Four day, 10-hour a day work week. The shift will include 3 weekdays and a Weekend day which is mandatory, and is discretionary based on needed. Shift Hours can range from 7AM to 8PM. After Hours/On-Call support services required for this role at least 1 week (7 days) per month.
Pay Transparency, Budgeted Range$95,658—$127,544 USD~
