We are seeking a Sr. Director of Technical Strategic Partnerships for our Broomfield, CO location.In this role you will be responsible for working collaboratively with Strategic Sourcing, technical teams, and strategic partners to build out robust solutions needed for our future generations of quantum computers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical day-to-day contact with current and future strategic partners to be an on-the-spot, fast, single-point of technical contact for critical partners and suppliers, particularly in lasers and optics.
- Together with these partners, it will be your job to make sure that technology, product and capabilities under development will meet Quantinuum’s long term business needs. This includes interactions such as interpretation and clarification of technical requirements, escalation of any technical or programmatic issues with a sense of urgency, understanding and specifying test procedures, understanding and specifying SW/firmware requirements and interfaces, and facilitation of joint problem solving.
- Working with Strategic Sourcing, to analyze our supply chain to identify gaps and find suppliers and partners to fill the gap. Conduct market studies on potential partners and suppliers to assess their ability to meet our product needs. Work with strategic sourcing to drive full cycle supplier quality process.
- Identify areas of supply chain options alternatives and opportunities in strategic global areas of interest in alignment with eliminating single-source impacts and supplier consolidation efforts.
- Work directly with technical teams to gather requirements to identify new out-sourcing and partnership opportunities needed for future quantum computer sub-systems and components, gather requirements, and facilitate RFI/RFP and other due diligence processes.
- Coordinate and lead responses to government solicitations that can help develop robust supply chain options.
- Conduct financial as management process-cost and ROI to inform decision-making across cross-functional teams and leadership. Lead the end-to-end change management process for all approved changes.
- Be a technical and strategic liaison to legal and supply chain teams in negotiating contracts, joint development agreements, and IP agreements.
- Be a partner to the integrated business teams, assisting them to quickly get the expert input needed on a range of topics.
- Develop metrics to measure progress; present and report on supply chain assessments and progress to Quantinuum leadership, board members, other investors and stakeholders, and customers.
- Monitoring partner compliance with contractual, regulatory, and ethical standards and acting with urgency if continued concerns about compliance arise.
- Identifying and mitigating partnership risks beyond supply chain disruptions (e.g., IP, reputational).
You Must Have:
- Master degrees minimum
- 20 years+ of experience developing innovative components and solutions and transferring from concept to product, particularly in lasers and optics
- Must be able to travel 30% of the time and be in Colorado Broomfield location 30% of the time.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. person (defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
We Value:
- Master degrees in engineering, optics, or physics
- 10+ years working with diverse suppliers to develop new products starting from low TRL and advancing the TRL and MRL to full product
- Expertise in lasers, optics, modulators with demonstrated ability to understand complicated technical specifications and be able to independently assess supplier capabilities and work with suppliers to interpret, measure and meet our requirements
- Experience writing complex and comprehensive requirements documents for components and sub-systems, particularly in lasers and optics
- Clear, concise communications with the ability to adapt style to seamlessly work with all layers of the organization from technical subject matter experts, technical leadership, supply chain leadership, business leadership, board of directors, investors, customers and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to act with urgency to get issues quickly resolved
- Financial acumen to be able to identify should-costs, ROIs
- Experience with successful design-for-cost and scoping cost take-out projects

- Demonstrated ability to be independent, quick learner and work independently to execute tasks
