Reports to: Senior Manager, Anatomic Pathology
Work Model: On-Site
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Weekdays, Monday - Friday
Status: Permanent Full Time
Closing Date: September 1, 2025

Position Summary
As a vital member of the laboratory management team, the supervisor oversees the daily operations of the clinical anatomic pathology laboratories and digital pathology services.

Duties

  • This role encompasses direct supervision of personnel
  • Aiding in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures
  • Assisting with budget preparation
  • Managing laboratory equipment and products
  • Facilitates access to educational programs for assigned staff:
    • Development and education should align with clinical operations in supporting an autopsy center of excellence as well as understanding current market trends in artificial intelligence and advanced diagnostic test development, among other areas of the portfolio.  

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 3 year community college program in medical laboratory technology or recognized equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Administration or a recognized equivalent (required) couples with a Master's degree (preferred)
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) or Canadian Certification Council of Pathologists' Assistants (CCCPA)
  • Minimum four years practical and related experiences
  • Two years supervisory experience in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with Epic Beaker, an asset
  • Knowledge of digital pathology systems and their integration with laboratory workflow
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational programs and training sessions  
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirement and standards for test development in pathology
  • Strong project management skills including planning, execution and monitoring of projects along with a proven track record to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines 
  • Committed to professional self-development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders
