Elevate Care as a Mental Health Technician II (MHT)!
Are you a compassionate professional ready to make a deeper impact in mental health care? As a Mental Health Technician II (MHT), you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering hands-on support to individuals served, working closely with licensed nursing staff to promote safety, comfort, and healing.
As an active member of the treatment team, you’ll foster a secure and therapeutic environment while modeling positive behaviors for those in your care. Your responsibilities include supervising individuals in a treatment setting, maintaining a safe and effective milieu, and confidently intervening during crisis situations to ensure the best outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Safety and Therapeutic CareProvides care to individuals served with a focus on safety, patient rights, comfort, and maintaining a therapeutic environment under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
Treatment Plan ImplementationContributes to the implementation of individual treatment plans through "line of sight" supervision, positive interaction, role modeling, and enforcing program-defined behavior consequences.
Crisis InterventionProvides crisis intervention by anticipating escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques, prioritizing safety, and adhering to proper restraint protocols while maintaining neutral emotions.
Facility Safety and MonitoringMaintains facility safety and security through close observation of individuals served, proactive intervention in potentially unsafe situations, and completing 15-minute safety checks with detailed documentation.
Support for Daily Living ActivitiesAssists individuals served with activities of daily living, including nutrition, rest, exercise, and personal hygiene, while fostering positive engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field.
Experience:
- Preferred: Two (2) years of direct care experience in a mental health setting.
- Preferred: Healthcare, mental health or human services experience.
