As a Quality Assurance Engineer in our newly formed division in San Diego, CA, you will play a key role in creating novel technologies and products related to the delivery of brain computer interfaces. A Quality Assurance Engineer typically ensures products meet quality standards through testing, analysis, and process oversight. They develop and implement quality control procedures, analyze data, and contribute to process improvements. They also play a role in training and mentoring technicians. Collaboration with engineers and project managers is also a key aspect of the role. You will get to work in a creative, fast-paced, highly ethical environment to develop first-of-a-kind products in the new field of brain computer interfaces.
Job Location
Full-time on site at our division headquarters in San Diego, California.
Job Responsibilities
- Developing and Implementing Quality Control Procedures:
Establishing quality protocols, inspection plans, and quality control procedures.
- Testing and Analysis:
Conducting various tests on products and materials, analyzing data to identify defects or areas for improvement, and documenting findings.
- Process Improvement:
Working with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and implement solutions to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Documentation:
Maintaining accurate records of quality control activities, test results, nonconforming material reports, and corrective actions.
- Training:
Overseeing and maintaining the company's training, documentation and records, ensuring that all employees are up-to-date with their required certifications and skills.
- Calibration:
Developing and executing calibration procedures for production and test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with quality standards; maintaining detailed documentation and records of all calibration activities in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Compliance:
Ensuring that all quality control activities adhere to internal and external quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Solving:
Investigating quality issues, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of quality control principles, testing methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret results to make informed decisions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various teams and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Experience: Experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in a medical devices.
Education: To qualify as a Quality Assurance Engineer, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $85,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or equity grants subject to board approval and company policy.
