SSI is seeking a Space Systems Engineer for a position in Chantilly, VA, to support SDA’s mission.
Responsibilities include: · Provides technical oversight and leadership for development, testing, integration, and operations efforts associated with the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. · Assists with the design verification and works with the vendor team to implement solutions to support the SDA’s mission. · Oversees the ground’s technical baseline, identifying key architecture and system-level trades, developing Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities, and coordinating them across the affected organizations. · Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. · Develops enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements. · Coordinates with cross-functional teams (i.e., Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry) and external stakeholders · Prepares briefings for senior decision makers.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems
- Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
- Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
- TS Clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in STEM or related discipline
