Role and Team
The Detail Shop Lead is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our vehicle detail operations and will service our customers by preparing vehicles for the auction by performing a variety of vehicle reconditioning tasks including interior detailing, upholstery cleaning, window cleaning, pre-wash, buffer, and quality control. This position reports to our Detail Shop Manager or Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Work in team units tasked with vehicle cleaning, detailing, and sale ready prep
- Learn & apply proper techniques for exterior and interior cleaning processes
- Learn & apply vehicle inspection techniques to maintain proper standards
- Preparation for advanced techniques
- Monitor and maintain equipment and facility
- Implement and ensure all safety policies are followed and complete safety audits and inspections
- Communicate with other departments to prepare for production flow and meeting deadlines
- Post vehicle detail completions to customer accounts
- Monitor and ensure compliance with customer contracts regarding vehicle detail completion and quality
- Cascade company and customer communication and directives
- Promote positive employee relations and morale

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Auction experience preferred
- Vehicle detailing experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
- Prefer 2 years of automotive experience
- Prefer leadership/supervisory experience
- Confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
- Proven ability to manage deliverables and metrics against aggressive targets and timelines
- Proficiency with computer systems and applications

The physical activity requirements of the position are Light to Medium Physical Work.
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.
Physical Working Conditions:
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
