Position Summary:
The Business Development Assistant will work closely the rest of BD team to support business development efforts and initiatives for the Real Estate Department and other Departments at the firm. A successful candidate is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior client service to the Firm’s attorneys and business service professionals.
An entrepreneurial spirit is essential to proactively identify opportunities, drive initiatives forward, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The Assistant will interact and communicate with the entire Marketing and Business Development Department, Firm partners and other attorneys, external vendors and service providers, and other business service professionals. The Assistant will report to the Manager of Business Development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of tailored materials for various business development opportunities across practice groups, including pitches, client presentations, attorney biographies, RFP’s and other client facing materials.
- Research visibility and other relevant marketing opportunities such as speaking engagements and awards.
- Assist in the analysis of peer firm research and client/industry background materials as needed to support strategic initiatives.
- Provide support and coordinate all activities involved with sponsorships such as processing payments, providing logos, shipping and materials, setting up booths, and ordering give-away items.
- Assist in the collection of matter experience for assigned practice groups for inclusion in the Firm’s databases and external promotion.
- Assist in the preparation of directory submissions including Chambers and Legal 500.
- Support key client and industry initiatives including but not limited to, relationship tracking, gifting, and target client news to support client and industry growth.
- Update and maintain data integrity in databases including Foundation and InterAction, including account / contact records, data entry, pulling reports.
- Assist in the coordination and distribution of relevant client memos and thought leadership.
- Budget administration, including Chrome River expense approvals, processing invoices, making budget reallocations, preparing budget summaries, data entry.
- Support business development team members on special projects as assigned/needed.
Qualifications:
Education: 4-year college degree required.
Experience: Preferred experience in marketing and/or business development within a medium to large professional services environment.
Skills And Abilities:
- Must work with strong intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness.
- Must possess excellent editing and proofreading skills and rigorous attention to process and detail, with overall pride of workmanship.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment working under pressure and prioritizing competing responsibilities within tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Clearly demonstrates the ability to work effectively across various projects and assume new challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of people and departments.

- Must be highly skilled in MS Suite - Excel and PowerPoint.
