The Basics:
Tanium is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join our legal team and specialize in regulatory compliance matters. The right person for this position must be a team player who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, has a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and is interested in gaining experience and developing expertise in a variety of business areas.
This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor global laws and regulations related to Tanium’s business practices, product sales, and operations
- Identify legal compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies consistent with the company’s business objectives.
- Translate regulations into actionable steps and manage the implementation, reporting, and training of actions across the organization
- Provide legal and business advice on subject matters such as:
- anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and third-party diligence efforts
- enterprise risk management policies and programs
- export controls and trade restrictions
- government and procurement regulations (including lobbying requirements)
- global privacy laws and data security standards
- environmental and sustainability requirements
- Manage projects for risk mitigation and regulatory compliance
- Partner with the Finance, Sales, Marketing, and IT teams on cross-functional matters.
- Conduct and manage investigations into regulatory and policy compliance matters
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience:
- Prior experience handling regulatory matters in an advisory or litigation context.
- A curious generalist, who has a desire to learn and master new areas
- JD from an accredited institution
- Active and in good standing in at least one state bar
- At least 3 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, government agency, and/or in-house
Other:
- Experience working in-house in the software industry
- Exceptionally good communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a tightly-knit legal team
- Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization to build consensus and achieve strategic goals as well as the ability to enforce legal requirements without alienating clients

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 to $370,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
