The Job/What You'll Do:
We are seeking a highly organized, operationally-focused Chief of Staff to support our Chief Product & Technology Officer in managing a 500-person global product and engineering organization. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a passion for technology, and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic operational partner who can seamlessly navigate between high-level organizational management, detailed administrative work, product operations, and strategic initiatives. We have a strong preference for candidates with experience in either software development or wealth or asset management.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Concord, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational & People Management
Support the CPTO in operating a 500-person global product and engineering organization
Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment across teams
Assist with organizational design, team structure optimization, and talent planning
Help manage leadership team dynamics and strategic initiatives
Administrative Operations
Own budgeting and financial planning processes for the product and engineering organization
Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and statement of work (SOW) processes
Coordinate with Executive Assistant on strategic priorities and complex operational matters
Handle compliance, procurement, and strategic operational tasks
Product Operations
Define and implement processes for product and engineering teams
Partner with our Heads of Product and Engineering on roadmap operations, including planning cycles, prioritization frameworks, and stakeholder communication
Research, evaluate, and drive adoption of new tools for engineers and designers
Stay current on AI tools and emerging technologies relevant to product development disciplines
Optimize team workflows and operational efficiency
Strategy & Executive Support
Support the CPTO in senior-level strategy discussions and decision-making
Contribute to M&A evaluations, partnership assessments, and strategic planning
Assist with roadmap decisions and product portfolio strategy
Support competitive analysis and market research initiatives
Provide analytical support for board-level and executive team strategic work
Background & Experience
5-8 years of professional experience in FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or in product management or engineering
Preference for candidates with experience in the wealth management or asset management industries
Demonstrated excellence in managing complex operational processes and stakeholder relationships
Track record of working in fast-paced, high-growth, or highly regulated environments

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $140,000-$160,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
