Analyst, IT Systems

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for translating business requirements into functional requirements and specifications. This role must determine if internal or external solutions exist or whether new solutions are feasible. Must have a working knowledge of the business area that they support. In addition, a strong understanding of the overall IT architecture is also required to understand the issues and implications of proposed system and hardware solutions.

Job Description:

• Designs, develops, and maintains dashboards and reports.

• Understands data modeling concepts and be able to create effective data models to support reporting needs.

• Understands the business requirements and available data.

• Creates visualizations that present the data clearly and engagingly, making it easy for stakeholders to understand trends, patterns, and insights.

• Designs, develops and implements interactive web pages using various technologies and tools, with a special focus on WordPress.

• Configures and administers the ServiceNow platform for efficient management of business services and process automation.

• Develops and optimizes SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation in Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity and security.

• Collaborates with other teams to understand project requirements and translates them into effective technology solutions.

• Keeps up to date on trends and developments in the technology field, contributing innovative ideas to improve our products and services.

• Supports the Business Analyst and the company while considering modifications to technology solutions and/or new technology solutions.

• Leads the translation of company requirements into functional and non-functional requirements.

• Contributes to the formulation and definition of the scope and objectives of a system based on user needs and understanding of business processes.

• Determines if internal or external solutions exist, or if a new solution is feasible.

• Collaborates with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure that the solution meets enterprise architecture standards and principles.

• Participates in the design of solutions to ensure that the functional and non-functional scope and implementation are fully executed.

• Reviews documentation from the system integrator and that provided by the system supplier, including architecture and system manuals, to ensure they are aligned with company requirements.

• Provides input and review training materials provided by suppliers or the company.

• Maintains a strong understanding of the overall technology architecture and technology products at LUMA to understand the issues and implications of any proposed system or hardware solution.

• Prepares project documents as required.

• Fully understands the software being supported and its relationship to company processes.

• Performs restoration work and participate in associated drills in the event of a major storm, as assigned.

• Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.

• Required to work additional hours as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science, information technology or equivalent experience required.

• Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline preferred

• 3 - 5 years of information technology or operational experience required

• Experience with Integration Tools such as MS Azure and Java EE.

• Basic knowledge, especially in web languages such as HTML, CSS or JavaScript.

• Knowledge in API / Web Services SOAP and RESTFULL development.

• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.

• Good analytical, technical and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with Power BI is preferred.

• Knowledge in CC&B, Data Lake is preferred.
