Our Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in mechanical design and development.

  • Prepare engineering drawings and documentation in compliance with industry standards and internal procedures.

  • Perform basic, stress, thermal and tolerance analysis under supervision of senior engineers.

  • Assist in the fabrication, assembly and testing of prototypes.

  • Participate and contribute to peer reviews and design evaluation feedback.

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams including troubleshooting and process improvement.

  • Following company standards and procedures/processes to ensure product quality and safety.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience

  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools

  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks, CATIA, or similar.

  • Windows/Office suite familiarity (Word/Excel/Project/etc)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis

  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes

  • Experience with technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints and engineering drawing creation and standards.

  • Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry.

  • Exposure to documentation control database and/or material resource planning system.

  • Knowledge of industry standards such as but not limited to ASME, ISO, ANSI and IPC.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $71,338.47 - $98,090.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
