Job Description:

The Copilot Enterprise Administrator/Analyst is responsible for configuring, optimizing, and supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot services and AzureAI organization-wide, running a community of practice and delivering solutions.  This role bridges the gap between IT administration and user enablement, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and high adoption of AI-powered solutions.   This role involves managing the environment, ensuring compliance with security standards, and driving adoption to enhance productivity.  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with agent management, security compliance, and administration within the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystems.   This role provides consultancy to Business teams and End Users to improve the prompt generation process and overall, AI system performance.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Copilot and Azure AI Foundry Administration & Support
    • Configure, optimize and manage Microsoft 365 Copilot services and Azure AI Foundry to align with organizational goals.
    • Manage tenant-wide settings, including user roles, licenses, and troubleshooting complex issues.
    • Implement and monitor data protection policies, ensuring compliance with Microsoft 365 security standards.   Implement role-based access controls.
    • Administer user access, licensing, and security settings through Microsoft Entra IS (Azure AD) and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
    • Monitor performance, new capabilities and communicate to stakeholders as needed.
  • AI Technical Enablement
    • Partner with IT, Vendors and business to identify high-impact use cases.
    • Serve as the technical lead for integrating AI tools (Copilot, Power Platform AI, Azure AI, etc).
    • Build and manage custom Copilot agents using Copilot Studio and Power Platform and Azure AI Foundry.
    • Integrate Copilot agents, image generators, coding platforms into enterprise systems (e.g., SharePoint, Dynamics 365) and company workflows ensuring governance, security, performance and cost monitoring. 
    • Lead the AI development Community of Practice and coach other developers on use of tools.
    • Develop and publish reports on AI models, prompt performance, consumption and development progress
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, governance frameworks, and usage guidelines
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Copilot and Azure AI Foundry-related issues.
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for end-users, resolving technical problems and escalating complex issues.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting, FAQs, and best practices.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Oversee the deployment and adoption of Microsoft Copilot across Office 365, M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry.
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity and data teams to ensure data protection and alignment with enterprise data governance and regulatory requirements
    • Develop and maintain governance frameworks for testing and publishing Agents in production, including code review, tools to measure output accuracy and documentation.
    • Partner with IT architects and Information Security on appropriate M365 and associated system configurations to optimize Agent performance.
  • User Enablement & Adoption
    • Design and deliver training programs, onboarding materials, and workshops to drive AI adoption across departments.
    • Action as a trusted advisor to business units, identifying high-impact use cases and supporting AI-driven process improvements.
    • Collect user feedback and usage data to continuously enhance the AI experience.
  • Innovation & Optimization
    • Stay current with Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI Foundry updates, roadmap and other 3rd party Vendors and recommend fit for Enterprise Prompt Engineering & AI Agent Development.
    • Conduct research and experimentation to improve existing models, tools and methods.
    • Stay updated on the latest AI, MLP, and ML trends, advancements and best practices.
    • Evaluate and pilot new AI tools and features for potential enterprise adoption.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep Understanding of CoPilot and AI/ML Concepts.   A strong grasp of underlying AI and machine learning principles, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Expert-level knowledge Microsoft 365 CoPilot, GitHub CoPilot, CoPilot Studio (and Azure AI Foundry preferred). This includes understanding architecture, capabilities, limitations, and integration points.
  • Platform Expertise (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, GitHub) especially for deploying and managing AI services.  Extensive experience with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Proficiency in software development workflows, various programming languages (like Python, C#), Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), version control systems (Git/GitHub), and best practices in coding and testing.
  • Integration and API Knowledge. Ability to integrate CoPilot solutions with other enterprise applications and systems using APIs (e.g., Microsoft Graph API).
  • Experience in designing and implementing automated workflows using tools relevant to the CoPilot ecosystem (e.g., Power Automate).
  • Skills in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model fine-tuning. Knowledge of SQL and ETL processes.
  • Understanding of security best practices and how to implement and manage CoPilot solutions in a secure and compliant manner within an organization's governance framework.
  • Skill in crafting effective prompts to guide CoPilot tools and achieve desired outputs.  Strong knowledge of testing methods.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 (M365) administration, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online and Power Platform, etc
  • 2-3 years of Copilot Studio experience or Power Virtual Agents
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development governance tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar, particularly in supporting our processes for DevOps compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online, Teams integration, and M365 AI capabilities within enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, API integration, and custom connector development.
  • Proficiency in creating and publishing dashboards with tools like Power BI, Azure Monitor, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead peer code/design reviews and facilitate knowledge-sharing or training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Microsoft or cloud certifications (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-400, MS-600).
  • Experience in large enterprise environments supporting both professional developers and low-code/no-code solutions.   Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or other large language model (LLM) platforms and frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. PowerShell, Power Automate).
