Job Description:

Your Role

This is an entry-level role to join the OPIS Europe Spots team, where you will be trained on European carbon markets and how to produce price assessments, news, intelligence for daily and weekly publication, as well as other forms of content such as webinars and podcasts. The position also involves covering the nascent biodiversity credit market.
 

Key responsibilities include:

·       Accumulate spot market price transactions from industry participants via instant messaging, phone, and email. Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to Dow Jones pricing methodology to create daily price assessments.

·       Developing and cultivating a range of industry sources.

·       Producing stories for our real-time news service as well as longer, more analytical content focusing on industry trends and emerging issues.

·       Support the regional and global team in promoting price assessments to the marketplace to allow them to be accepted and used as benchmark references.

·       Developing new markets and products.

·       Occasional travel.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

·       Strong communication, writing, and networking skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.

·       Demonstrated interest in the energy, carbon and biodiversity markets, though you should have the curiosity and willingness to learn about industry trends and be able to break down sometimes complex regulatory and market issues into accurate and easily understood content.

·       Ability to engage with external stakeholders

·       Ability to analyze data and market drivers quickly

.       Good knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets

·       Experience in Power BI or coding language such as Python would be beneficial

·       Additional languages would be beneficial.
