About the Position

The On-Call Driver supports the operational success of our mountain region locations in Aspen (ASE), Eagle (EGE), and Rifle (RIL). This role plays a critical part in maintaining vehicle inventory levels across all three airports to meet guest demand without interruption. The position ensures we never run out of cars and maximizes business opportunities. Drivers provide timely and professional transport of vehicles between locations, often on short notice, to accommodate last-minute guest needs, weather-related diversions, and high-volume travel periods.

  • Vehicle Transfers: Safely transport vehicles between ASE, EGE, and RIL to balance fleet levels and meet anticipated guest demand.
  • Operational Support: Execute vehicle movements quickly in response to diversions, weather disruptions, and peak demand, minimizing downtime and maximizing rental opportunities.
  • Guest Service Mindset: Represent the company professionally during any guest interactions while driving or delivering vehicles.
  • Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with location managers to prioritize vehicle allocation and ensure no location becomes over-fleeted or under-supplied.
  • Timeliness and Reliability: Respond promptly to on-call requests and arrive at the designated start location at the agreed time.
  • Recordkeeping: Accurately document mileage, fuel levels, and vehicle condition before and after transfers.
  • Safety and Compliance: Operate vehicles in full compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving standards.

Availability and Communication Process

  • There is no daily or weekly expectation for hours worked.
  • When it is determined that cars need to be moved, a request is sent to the Driver text group.
  • Example message: “Need 5 drivers to move 8 units from ASE to RIL on Thursday. We will be doing 2 runs for a total of 8 units moved.” One of the five drivers will operate the chase car.
  • Drivers who are available respond to the message. The start time and location are then provided to confirmed participants.
  • Drivers report at the specified time and location, and the driving assignment begins.
  • No stops are allowed during a gig; driving is point-to-point only.

Response Time

  • On-call drivers are not required to remain within a certain distance of any starting location.
  • Drivers may choose to accept or decline any request based on their own availability and proximity.

Geographic Proximity and Vehicle Preparation

  • Vehicle preparation, fueling, and cleaning are not part of the on-call driver duties.
  • Vehicles may be provided in guest-ready condition or in need of cleaning, depending on operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work on an on-call basis, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicle types, including luxury and performance vehicles.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the operational dynamics of ASE, EGE, and RIL airports.
