Your objective will be to maintain and expand FLS’s market presence across the North America Sales Area (with a focus on the Eastern USA) by identifying, recruiting, and managing a third-party sales network. You will also lead and support an existing direct sales team, with a focus on key industrial clientele.

This role is critical to enhancing market coverage and driving unit and revenue growth within the Natural Aggregate, Power Generation, and Industrial Minerals segments. Success will be achieved through a flexible, cost-effective combination of distribution and direct sales models.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Service, North America, and working closely with FLS’s Service and Product Business Lines, you will define the growth strategy and lead its execution.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development: Identify new opportunities, manage account lifecycles, and support installed base activities to meet growth targets.
  • Channel Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales distribution strategy aligned with global and regional objectives.
  • Territory Expansion: Pinpoint high-potential markets and product groups lacking coverage to increase FLSmidth’s footprint.
  • Sales Execution: Create and implement tactical business plans and budgets that support long-term strategic goals.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring CRM accuracy and responsiveness to market trends.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop Site Account Managers to align with the overall sales strategy.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage regional sales budgets and performance metrics, reporting monthly on contribution margins and business development results.
  • Market Forecasting: Analyze trends and data to forecast opportunities over a 0–5 year horizon.
  • Customer Advocacy: Represent the Sales Area in external relationships, resolving disputes, warranty issues, and receivables.
  • Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety in all operational activities.
  • Marketing & Events: Plan and communicate marketing needs, including trade shows, conferences, and client events.

What you bring

  • 5-10 years experience in Distribution and Direct Sales Team management in Natural Aggregate, Power Generation, and Industrial Minerals segments with positive sales results
  • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, and stock management in support of Net Working Capital objectives.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or relevant experience
  • Strong financial acumen with effective communication skills
