POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Learning Design & Product Development, leads PCMA's education strategy and content creation while driving innovative product development for revenue growth. This role combines instructional design expertise with entrepreneurial product management to develop, build, and scale learning products that meet market demands. The position is responsible for creating courses in Articulate Rise, developing comprehensive education strategies, and identifying new revenue opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Educational Strategy & Content Development (35%)

  • Lead comprehensive education and content strategy aligned with market demands and industry trends
  • Build courses directly in Articulate Rise and other eLearning development tools
  • Develop instructional design frameworks, learning objectives, and assessment strategies for all products
  • Create scalable content templates, design standards, and quality assurance processes
  • Research and implement new course delivery capabilities to close competitive gaps
  • Establish content refresh cycles and continuous improvement processes

Product Development & Innovation (25%)

  • Lead new product pipeline from concept through launch, focusing on high-margin offerings
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify product opportunities
  • Manage MVP development, market validation, and go-to-market strategies
  • Create scalable product offerings that reduce dependency on custom delivery
  • Drive innovation in learning delivery methods and technology integration

Revenue Generation & Business Development (20%)

  • Implement systematic course promotion and marketing support processes
  • Drive pricing strategy and revenue model optimization for consulting and premium services
  • Support enterprise sales with educationally-sound proposal development
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams within the learning and professional development space
  • Analyze product performance and recommend optimization strategies

Collaboration & Strategic Support (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Learning Operations Manager to ensure seamless content delivery and learner experience
  • Work closely with VP on strategic initiatives and market positioning
  • Support cross-functional teams (Business Development, Marketing, CEMA, Spark, Regions) with educational content expertise
  • Provide market intelligence and product insights for strategic decision-making
  • Ensure all product development aligns with PCMA's overall strategic objectives
  • Support PCMA signature events with educational content and learning opportunities

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Represent PCMA in a professional manner in all areas of responsibilities, both with internal and external clients.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SIILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Expert proficiency in Articulate Rise and other eLearning authoring tools
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and educational technology platforms
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of video production, graphic design, and multimedia content creation
  • Analytics and data analysis skills for product performance measurement
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with revenue generation focus
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into engaging learning experiences
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Collaborative approach with cross-functional team experience
  • Ability to travel 10-15% annually for market research, client meetings, and PCMA signature events

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or related field
  • 5+ years of instructional design and eLearning development experience
  • 3+ years of product management or product development experience
  • Proven experience building courses in Articulate Rise or similar authoring tools
  • Experience developing and launching educational products or services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational background in Instructional Design, Education, or related field
  • Association or membership organization experience
  • Knowledge of continuing education (CE) requirements and compliance
  • Background in the business events industry
  • Certification in instructional design (CPTD, CPLP, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in performing the work.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time in performing the work. 
  • Ability to pull or push objects of varying weights in performing the work. 
  • Ability to grasp objects utilizing the fingers (fine motor manipulation).
  • Ability to travel by air or ground transportation as required in performing the work.
