Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Manager, IT Finance is responsible for driving the overall financial modeling and analytical support of various IT Domains within Global Data and Technology Services (GDATS) organization, with an estimated spend under management of $100-$200M. This role also supports major transformation projects by delivering advanced financial modeling, leveraging analytical expertise, fostering strategic business partnerships, and shaping investment strategies to ensure the Domain’s financial objectives align with enterprise goals. Manage a team of 5-6 IT finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Mentor staff to ensure robust execution of financial processes and alignment with the Cencora policies and financial controls.
Responsibilities:
Advanced Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for the IT Domain’s cost centers & transformation projects. Utilize scenario analysis, what-if scenarios, and break-even analysis to evaluate financial risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with the project’s strategic goals.
Analytical Expertise: Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that drive the Domain’s transformation and financial performance. Leverage tools such as Excel, Power BI, Power Query, etc. to deliver actionable insights for IT leadership and business stakeholders.
Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with IT Domain leadership and cross-functional business units to align financial strategies with transformation objectives. Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations to support decision-making and project success.
Investment Strategy Development: Lead the creation and analysis of business cases for technology-related investments tied to the transformation project. Evaluate investment opportunities, perform benchmarking, and develop strategies to maximize ROI while mitigating risks, ensuring alignment with the Domain’s and enterprise’s long-term objectives.
Budgeting and Forecasting Leadership: Oversee the development and execution of the IT Domain’s annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, ensuring alignment with the transformation project’s strategic imperatives. Manage financial planning with precision, adhering to documented timelines and driving transparency into financial results.
Financial Reporting and Insights: Convert monthly and quarterly financial data into concise, high-impact reports and dashboards for IT Senior Management. Provide actionable summaries, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations to support the transformation project and overall Domain performance.
Transformation Project Support: Provide financial leadership for the IT Domain’s major transformation project, offering guidance on cost management, resource allocation, and financial performance. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and impact of financial operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Respond to financial inquiries from IT and business leaders by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data, delivering insights that influence strategic decisions and support the transformation project’s success.
Team Leadership: Manage a team of IT finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Mentor staff to ensure robust execution of financial processes and alignment with the Cencora policies and financial controls.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accounting, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or Computer Science with additional concentration of study in Finance/Accounting; normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years related and progressively responsible experience in IT, accounting and/or finance. Experience in both financial and technical disciplines is required. Relevant advanced degrees, such as an MBA coupled with a technical undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
Outstanding knowledge of IT products and services; knowledge of Technology Business Management practices. Working knowledge of both IT technical disciplines, plus financial and accounting practices is required.
Ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner.
Proficiency in financial tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Vena) and data analysis platforms, with the ability to leverage technology for strategic insights.
Exceptional business partnering skills, with experience collaborating with IT and business leaders to drive financial and operational outcomes in a complex, fast-paced setting.
Strategic mindset with expertise in developing investment strategies and business cases that support transformative initiatives.
