About This Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Information Analyst to work closely with the broader Advancement and Community Engagement teams, as well as the Advancement Services portfolio. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of business context, processes, and information needs, and translate these into clear requirements for data capture, reporting, and analytics outcomes.
The Information Management and Insights team within Advancement Services is responsible for the provision of information to drive the Advancement and Community Engagement business including complex data analysis, reporting, predictive modelling, KPI measures and identifying improvements to maximise data intelligence.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Engage with stakeholders to define scope, gather requirements, and identify business needs for information, reporting, and analytics solutions.
Analyse business processes and operations, identifying innovative solutions that support informed decision-making and strategic improvements.
Translate business needs into technical specifications, including dimensions, measures, business rules, and analytics use cases, and produce reports and insights accordingly.
Lead and implement data-driven initiatives, including process improvements, new data capture methods, and insight solutions across Advancement Services and the ACE portfolio.
Oversee and support information delivery, including ad hoc analytics requests, service desk operations, and contributing to major initiatives like the UQ Engage CRM transition.

About You
A degree in Information Technology, Business, Statistics, or a related area with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant technical experience and or education / training
Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate and interpret between teams with different professional backgrounds and skills such as between marketing and IT or fundraisers and data analysts.
Demonstrated requirements elicitation and documentation skills, including the ability to interpret client needs for business intelligence and to deliver high quality customer service.
Self-motivated, work independently and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines in a multifaceted team.
Strong skills in customer relationship management systems, such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce.
Demonstrated understanding of data structures, including understanding of transactional databases and reporting structures (e.g. Kimball), including strong skills in SQL and experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI or other data analysis tools.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn new processes.
Self-motivated, work independently and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines in a multifaceted team.
Experience working within higher education Advancement, or the not-for-profit sector is desirable.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
