Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc., designs, manufactures and distributes a range of tire products for passenger, light truck, and commercial truck. The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse, including warehouse operations, customer service, and transportation. This position will directly manage inbound freight monitoring, goods receipts, inventory management, customer order scheduling and transportation planning. The Distribution Center Manager will also indirectly manage a third-party Logistics provider contracted to provide resources for material handling, re-packing, shipment preparation and all other aspects of the warehouse operations. This position will also establish warehouse performance objectives and will be accountable for achieving goals for: customer service, cost, productivity, and safety. The Distribution Center Manager will also work with Toyo entities to ensure transparency and direct support of business goals, forecasts, and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warehouse Operations in partnership with 3PL
- Directs 3PL on operational activities of the warehouse including safety, personnel, equipment, and the facility.
- Manage domestic freight negotiations, carrier contracts, carrier performance, and scheduling of customer routed deliveries.
- Review inbound and outbound workload daily and determine work to be scheduled to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing the Toyo program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Develop layouts and procedures that will safely and effectively utilize available space and move automotive parts through the warehouse.
- Review warehouse operations to ensure developed procedures, education and achieving desired results for all areas of operations for housekeeping, safety and security practices, packaging, and storage in handling procedures.
- Manages Cycle Counts and Physical Inventory to include reporting and reconciliation.
- Oversee Quality Assurance Holds, parts inspections and other inventory requests by QA.
- Complies with; federal, state, and local requirements for warehousing, material handling, and shipping, advising management on needed actions.
- Review and document delivery performance for all suppliers and customers.
Personnel Administration
- Supervise the management team, and office staff.
- Manage 3PL to establish and maintain a competent workforce and proper environment to operate a safe, secure, cost-effective warehouse that satisfies the company, government, and labor requirements.
- Interview applicants and select personnel for open positions following standard employment procedures and government regulations.
- Instruct new employees on safe work procedures.
- Assess employee job performance and encourage progress and development of personnel using motivational techniques.
- Recommend employees for promotions, demotions, rate changes, and terminations.
- Establish cross-development programs for employees to maintain required flexibility in staffing.
Expense and Asset Control/Security
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Ensure necessary precautions are taken to assure safe and secure facilities and equipment to avoid loss or damage to product inventory, personnel, and other company assets.
- Ensure safe and proper identification, storage, and management of finished goods.
- Maintains an effective warehouse management system (WMS) to visualize inventory.
- Conduct physical inventories monthly to assure integrity records and protection of assets.
- Make periodic fire and security checks of the warehouse during and after normal working hours.
- Responsible for overseeing the security system.
Safety
- Compliance and management of all COVID-19 protocol.
- Develop and maintain warehouse safety program in compliance with all local, state, and OSHA regulations.
- Schedule and conduct periodic safety meetings.
- Conduct a program of safety and health inspections to discover and correct unsafe working conditions of practices; to control health hazards; and to comply fully with the safety and health standards for each job, operation, and facility – housekeeping inspections.
- Train employees in good safety and health practices.
- Ensure Forklift Operator Certifications and record keeping.
- Provide the necessary personal protective equipment and instruct employees on their use and care.
- Develop and enforce safety and health rules. Require all employees to comply with Safety rules as a condition of employment.
- Investigate accidents promptly and determine the cause.
- Take action to correct the problems to prevent re-occurrence.

The salary range for this position is $87,424.00 - $131,136.00

- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word). SAP desired
- Ability to follow Company policies and safety guidelines
- Must be available to work after normal business hours to complete assigned job
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise subordinates to support the functions of the position. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution in programs such as business administration, logistics, supply chain management or equivalent preferred. Must have (5-10) years of related work experience with management responsibilities. Automotive Parts distribution or manufacturing industry experience highly desired.
